Contacts

View contact information

Every contact in VNCtalk has a profile where you can view all available data about that person. You can also connect with a contact through video/ audio calls, send a message, open a form to compose an email, or create a task for them.

There are 2 ways to view a contact's profile.

Way 1. From the list of contacts.

  1. Click the notebook icon at the left of your profile image.
  2. Navigate to the Contacts tab.
  3. Click the kebab menu icon next to the required contact.
  4. Select Profile from the dropdown menu.

Way 2. Using the Action wheel.

  1. Click the notebook icon at the left of your profile image.
  2. Navigate to the Contacts tab.
  3. Click the user's avatar icon and click the avatar again.

Buttons (1) that launch qiuck actions in a corresponding VNC product:

  • Make a voice or video call to the user.
  • Start a chat.
  • Compose a new email.
  • Create a ticket/ task for a user.

A user's profile displays general information about your contact (2):

  • Profile. See the user's full name, email, role, timezone, and language.
  • HR data (This option is only visible for users with HR roles). See the user's gender, marital status, engagement type, weekly availability, and payment mode.
  • Activity. Monitor chat and email activity.

You can also customize chat settings, work with files, and view account details (3). Click the down arrow next to Activity and select one of the following options:

  • Settings. Enable/ disable OMEMO Encryption and clear chat history.
  • Files. A collection of all the images, videos, docs, voice messages, and saved meetings.
  • Account. See the user's profile name, security encryption type, projects, and more.

Compose an email for a contact

You can compose an email for a user in case the user has a subscription for VNCmail.

There are 2 ways to compose an email for a contact.

Way 1. Using the Action Wheel.

  1. Click the notebook icon at the left of your profile image.
  2. Navigate to the Contacts tab.
  3. Click the user's avatar and then select the envelope icon .

You will be redirected to VNCmail.

Way 2. From the "Profile Information" sidebar.

  1. Click the notebook icon at the left of your profile image.
  2. Navigate to the Contacts tab.
  3. Click the kebab menu icon next to the required contact.
  4. Select Profile from the dropdown menu.
  5. Click the email button .

Create a ticket for a contact

You can create a ticket for a user in case the user has the subscription for VNCproject.

Way 1. Using the Action Wheel.

  1. Click the notebook icon at the left of your profile image.
  2. Navigate to the Contacts tab.
  3. Click the user's avatar and then select the ticket icon .
  4. The "Create ticket" pop-up will open. Fill in all required fields and any other fields that you want.

    • You can also click Open in VNCproject in the bottom left corner of the pop-up and you will be redirected to VNCproject.
  5. Click Create.

Way 2. From the "Profile Information" sidebar.

  1. Click the notebook icon at the left of your profile image.
  2. Navigate to the Contacts tab.
  3. Click the kebab menu icon next to the required contact.
  4. Select Profile from the dropdown menu.
  5. Click the ticket button .
  6. The following steps are the same as for the first way of creating a ticket for a contact.

Create a task for a contact

You can create a task for a user in case the user has the subscription for VNCtask.

Way 1. Using the Action Wheel.

  1. Click the notebook icon next to your profile image.
  2. Go to the Contacts tab.
  3. Search for a required user from the list or use the search field for it.
  4. Click the user's avatar and then the task icon .

You will be redirected to VNCtask.

Way 2. From the "Profile Information" sidebar.

  1. Click the notebook icon at the left of your profile image.
  2. Navigate to the Contacts tab.
  3. Click the kebab menu icon next to the required contact.
  4. Select Profile from the dropdown menu.
  5. Click the task button .

Block a contact

You can stop receiving messages and calls from certain contacts by blocking them. After you block a contact, you should see the following icon on the blocked contact's avatar.

There are 3 ways to block a contact.

Way 1. Using the "Block user" option in a chat

  1. Open a chat.
  2. Click the down arrow next to the user's name.
  3. Select Block user from the dropdown menu.

Way 2. From the list of contacts.

  1. Click the notebook icon at the left of your profile image.
  2. Navigate to the Contacts tab.
  3. Click the kebab menu icon next to the required contact.
  4. Select Block user from the dropdown menu.

Way 3. From the chat list.

  1. Hover the pointer over the chat you want to block and click the kebab menu icon .
  2. Select Block user from the dropdown menu.

Way 4. From the "Profile Information" sidebar.

  1. Open a chat.
  2. Click the down arrow next to the user's name.
  3. Select Profile from the dropdown menu.
  4. Click the kebab menu button .
  5. Select Block user from the dropdown menu.

View blocked contacts

All blocked users are added to the "Blocked" list.

  1. Click the notebook icon .
  2. Navigate to the Contacts tab.
  3. Click the Blocked chip.

Unblock a contact

There are 4 ways to unblock a user.

Way 1. Using the "Block user" option in a chat

  1. Open a chat.
  2. Click the down arrow next to the user's name.
  3. Select Unblock user from the dropdown menu.

Way 2. From the list of contacts.

  1. Click the notebook icon at the left of your profile image.
  2. Navigate to the Contacts tab.
  3. Click the kebab menu icon next to the required contact.
  4. Select Unblock user from the dropdown menu.

Way 3. From the chat list.

  1. Hover the pointer over the chat you want to block and click the kebab menu icon .
  2. Select Unblock user from the dropdown menu.

Way 4. From the list of blocked contacts.

  1. Click the notebook icon .
  2. Navigate to the Contacts tab.
  3. Click the Blocked chip.
  4. Click the unblock user icon next to the user you want to unblock.

Add a contact to the "Favorite" list

There are 2 ways to add a contact to the "Favorite" list.

Way 1. Using the kebab menu next to a chat

  1. Hover the pointer over a chat with a user you want to add to the "Favorite" list and click the kebab menu icon .
  2. Select Add to Favorites from the dropdown menu.

Way 2. From the list of contacts.

  1. Click the notebook icon at the left of your profile image.
  2. Navigate to the Contacts tab.
  3. Click the kebab menu icon next to the required contact.
  4. Select Add to Favorites from the dropdown menu.

View favorite contacts

A user, marked as "favorite", is added to the "Favorite" list. To access the list:

  1. Click the notebook icon at the left of your profile image.
  2. Navigate to the Contacts tab.
  3. Click the Favorites chip.

Remove a user from the "Favorite" list

There are 3 ways to remove a user from the "Favorite" list.

Way 1. Using the kebab menu next to a chat

  1. Hover the pointer over a chat with a user you want to remove from the "Favorite" list and click the kebab menu icon .
  2. Select Remove from Favorites from the dropdown menu.

Way 2. From the list of contacts.

  1. Click the notebook icon at the left of your profile image.
  2. Navigate to the Contacts tab.
  3. Click the kebab menu icon next to the required contact.
  4. Select Remove from Favorites from the dropdown menu.

Way 3. From the "Favorite" list.

  1. Click the notebook icon at the left of your profile image.
  2. Navigate to the Contacts tab.
  3. Click the Favorites chip.
  4. Click the star icon .

Contact groups

"Contact group" is an option for each user to group contacts according to individual requirements, for example for marketing purposes.

Create a contact group

  1. Click the notebook icon at the left of your profile image.
  2. Click the plus icon and then select New Group.
  3. In the Group title field, type the name for the group.
  4. Under the Participants section, click the plus icon . Select people from your contact list and then click Save.
  5. Click Create.

View your contact groups

  1. Click the notebook icon .
  2. Navigate the Groups tab.

Rename a contact group

  1. Click the notebook icon at the left of your profile image.
  2. Navigate the Groups tab.
  3. Click the kebab menu icon next to the contact group you want to edit.
  4. Select Edit group from the dropdown menu.
  5. In the Group Title field, type a new name.
  6. Click Apply.

Add a user to a contact group

  1. Click the notebook icon at the left of your profile image.
  2. Navigate the Groups tab.
  3. Click the kebab menu icon next to the group where you want to add a new contact.
  4. Select New Contact from the dropdown menu.
  5. Click the plus icon . Select people from your contact list and click Save.
  6. Click Add.

Remove a user from a contact group

  1. Click the notebook icon at the left of your profile image.
  2. Navigate the Groups tab.
  3. Click the kebab menu icon next to the group where you want to remove a contact.
  4. Select Edit group from the dropdown menu.
  5. Under the Participants section, hover the pointer over the contact you want to remove from the contact group and click the cross icon on a required user.
  6. Click Apply.

Delete a contact group

It is not possible to restore deleted contact groups.

  1. Click the notebook icon at the left of your profile image.
  2. Navigate the Groups tab.
  3. Сlick the kebab menu icon next to the group you want to delete.
  4. Select Delete group from the dropdown menu.
  5. When prompted, click Delete confirming that you want to delete the group.
