Advanced Search

In VNCcommander, you can use the search box at the top of the page to search for the particular message, email, or task that you're interested in. Search can help you in this scenario.

  1. In the Search field at the top of the page, enter a search request.
  2. Press Enter.

A list of results will be shown.

Refine your search results

Filters allow you to narrow the scope of a search query to eliminate irrelevant information and help you find the exact content you're looking for.

There are 2 ways to refine your search results.

Way 1. From the "Advanced Search" page.

  1. In the Search field at the top of the page, click the filter icon to open the "Advanced Search" page.

    • If you already perform a basic search and results are showed, you can also click Refine Search at the top of the search results.
  2. Under the Basic Search section, type the search keyword in the Tag field.

  3. Under the Advanced Search section, you can filter results by the product:

    • VNCtalk: You can include attachments in your results by checking the box next to Include attachments and filter results by the sender.
    • VNCmail: You can filter results by the recipient, sender, status, and folder.
    • VNCtask: You can filter results by the assignee, status, and priority.
  4. Click Search.

Way 2. Refine from the Search Results Page.

  1. Type the search keyword in the search field and press Enter. That will immediately take you to the results page and open the advanced search sidebar.
  2. Check the box next to Show only unread if you want to perform a search by unread messages/ emails.
  3. If the matches aren“t what you are looking for, you can filter results by tags and date range.
  4. Dropdown lists enable you to filter your results by the product: VNCtalk, VNCmail, or VNCtask.
  5. Click Search.

Save found results as a template

  1. Click Save search.
  2. Fill in the Name field.
  3. Click Save.
  4. Click Saved searches to find the saved templates.
