General Information¶
Q: What is VNCsocial?
A: VNCsocial is a secure service for coworkers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent messages. Team members publish social posts, which may contain photos, videos, links, and text. These messages are posted to your profile, sent to your followers, and are searchable in VNCsocial search.
Q: How can I use VNCsocial?
A: VNCsocial is accessible directly in VNCtalk. By clicking the "Social" tab, you find yourself in VNCsocial space. Registered users can post, like, bookmark, reply to, and repost social posts. All posts are presented in a chronological stream. Users can also share additional information as well as an Avatar picture on their profile page and can follow each other. VNCsocial activities such as post views, followers, and reactions are visible in the Analytics tab.
Q: What is a post?
A: A post is any message posted to VNCsocial that may contain photos, videos, links, and text.
Q: What is a repost?
A: A repost is a post that you forward to your followers.
Q: How do I post a picture to VNCsocial?
A: The uploading and sharing of images on VNCsocial are the same for posting text messages.
Q: Can I edit a post once I have posted it?
A: No, you cannot edit a post once you have published it.
Q: How to customize your view?
A: Here is a list of formatting options available while creating a post:
- Bold
- Italic
- Underline
- Strikethrough
You can also insert the following in your posts:
- Links
- Images
- Videos
- Code block

Q: Who reads my updates?
A: Everyone who follows you reads your posts.
Subscriptions¶
Q: What does it mean to follow someone on VNCsocial?
A: Following someone means you've chosen to subscribe to their VNCsocial updates. When you follow someone, every time they post a new message, it will appear on your Stream.
Q: How do I find people to follow?
A: Once you have registered, you can search for people by username.
Q: How do I know who I am following?
A: After you click or tap the Follow button on someone's profile, you're following them. See a list of people you're following by clicking Subscriptions on your home page's sidebar.
Q: How do I know who is following me?
A: VNCsocial sends you a notification when someone new follows you. The Subscriptions will also tell you who is following you.
Q: Once I start following someone, can I stop?
A: Yes. You can unfollow other accounts at any time. VNCsicoal does not send a notification when you unfollow someone.
Q: Can I remove someone from following me?
A: No, you cannot remove the account from following you.
Q: Can I restrict who follows me, or sees my updates?
A: No, you cannot. Anyone within your organization can follow you.
Replies¶
Q: What are replies?
A: A reply is a response to another post and is one of the easiest ways to join in a conversation. You can view the posts you've replied to from your profile page by clicking the Replies tab.
Q: How to reply to someone's post?
A: Click or tap the reply icon 
on another person's post to reply to it. Refer to the "Reply to a post", for a step-by-step guide.
Analytics¶
Q: How to use VNCsocial Analytics?
A: You can use Social insights to learn more about your account’s followers and performance. For example:
- See how people engage with your posts during a specific period.
- Compare your Social activity and followers, and see how they trend over time.
- Get a detailed view of the reactions your posts receive.
