VNCtalk App User Manual

Getting started

Install VNCtalk App

Search for VNCtalk: secure real-time communication in the Play Store or Apple App Store and install the application.

After you have installed VNCtalk - allow the application:

  • to take pictures, record video;

  • to access photos, media and files on your device;

  • to record audio.

Create an account

Before creating an account, ensure that you are using the proper URL. For this, tap "Change server URL" on the login page, enter the appropriate URL, and tap "Change".

  1. In a pop-up box that appears, tap CREATE NEW ACCOUNT .
  2. Fill in the fields. The fields with the asterisk are required. Username is generated automatically after you have entered your first and second names.
  3. Tap REGISTER. You should see:
  4. Confirm your registration. Check the email, which you have specified while registering.
  5. Activate your account - tap the confirmation link.
  6. Open the application and tap Sign in. Now you can login with the credentials you have already specified while registering.

Change a profile photo

  1. Tap the hamburger menu icon .
  2. Tap the profile photo.
  3. Tap the photo camera icon .
  4. Tap Select An Image. You can choose a photo from your Library, or take a new photo with your camera.
  5. Tap Use.
  6. Tap the checkmark icon at the top right.

Alternatively, you can tap the profile icon, then tap a photo camera and select a profile photo.

Edit a profile information

  1. Tap the hamburger menu icon .
  2. Tap the profile photo.
  3. Tap the pencil icon at the bottom right.
  4. A page will open for you to change your full name, email, job title, address, and much more.
  5. Once done, tap the checkmark icon at the top right.

Alternatively, you can tap the profile icon at the top right, then tap a pencil icon at the bottom right and enter your new about information.

Customize a screen name

Screen name is a name that is visible only in your account. All other people cannot see your screen name and can find you only by your profile name.

  1. Tap the hamburger menu icon .
  2. Tap your name.
  3. In a Change screen name pop-up box that appears, enter your new screen name.
  4. Tap UPDATE.

Check the application version

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Navigate to Help > App info.

Able/Disable "Check for updates" option

A "Check for updates" option is currently an open beta. Anyone with a VNCtalk app for Android can able a "Check for updates" option right now.

You can easily update VNCtalk from the App Info page in Settings. We encourage you to always use the latest version of VNCtalk. Latest versions contain the newest features and bug fixes.

  1. Open VNCtalk.
  2. Tap the hamburger menu .
  3. Navigate to Help > App Info.
  4. Switch on Check for updates toggle. If updates are available, download them.

If the item "Check for updates" is active (the slider is moved to the right), then VNCtalk will notify the user about the availability of a new version — the "Check for updates" notification will appear when the user open the app.

Contact VNC Service Desk

You can submit a support request at any time through VNC Service Desk. Adding a support request is a good option if:

  • You face any issues with your VNCtalk application.
  • You want to report a bug.
  • You have feature requests.

To add a support request:

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Navigate to Help > VNC service desk.
  3. Tap Visit VNC service desk.

In your support request, try to provide as much detail as possible about the issue or request.

Access User Manual

There are the links to the documentation inside VNCtalk.

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Navigate to Help > User Manual.
  3. Tap a required document.

Access "Terms of use" & "Data Privacy"

The Terms of use should be read in conjunction with Data Privacy.

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Navigate to Help > Legal notice.

Go to other VNC products

You can go to another VNC product from VNCtalk if you have the subscription for the product. It means that you do not need to open the product URL in a browser and enter your credentials to login.

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Tap Talk. You should see the following, for example:

Log out

Logging out of an account in the VNCtalk app does not delete your account. You can always add an account back later by using the LOGIN button.

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Tap Logout at the bottom.
  3. Confirm that you want to log out, tap LOG OUT in the modal window.

Global settings

Customize the language

It is possible to set 3 languages: English, German, and French.

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Navigate to General settings > Global Settings.
  3. Under the GENERAL section, select a required language from the Language drop-down menu.
  4. Tap the checkmark icon at the top right.

Change the date format

You can change your date format in Global Settings. To do that, follow the steps:

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Navigate to General settings > Global Settings.
  3. Under the GENERAL section, select an option you prefer from the Date format drop-down menu.
  4. Tap the checkmark icon at the top right.

Change the time format

You can change how the clock appears in your display.

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Navigate to General settings > Global Settings.
  3. Under the GENERAL section, select an option you prefer from the Time format drop-down menu.
  4. Tap the checkmark icon at the top right.

If the format contains an AM or PM, the hour is based on the 12-hour clock, where "AM" indicates times from midnight until noon and "PM" indicates times from noon until midnight. Otherwise, the hour is based on the 24-hour clock that uses the numbers 00:00 to 23:59 (midnight is 00:00).

Change the timezone

You can change which time shows. To do that, follow the steps:

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Navigate to General settings > Global Settings.
  3. Under the GENERAL section, select your home time zone from the Timezone drop-down menu.
  4. Tap the checkmark icon at the top right.

Enable/disable "Send message with ENTER" option

You can configure whether tapping ENTER sends a message or not.

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Navigate to General settings > Global Settings.
  3. Switch on Send message with ENTER toggle.

  4. Tap the checkmark icon at the top right.

Enable/disable "Add date stamp along with time stamp" option

If you enable "Add date stamp along with time stamp" option, you will be able to add a date to time stamp on messages.

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Navigate to General settings > Global Settings.
  3. Switch on or off Add date stamp along with time stamp toggle.

  4. Tap the checkmark at the top right.

Enable/disable "Allow screen share preview for the presenter" option

By default, the option is disabled. In this case if you share your screen, you will see the following on your screen:

If you enable the option, you will see that part of your screen, which you share, on your screen.

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Navigate to General settings > Global Settings.
  3. Switch on or off Allow screen share preview for the presenter toggle.

  4. Tap the checkmark at the top right.

Notification and sound settings

Enable/disable chats, channels, mentions, and broadcasts notifications

You can control which types of notifications you want to enable. Below is a list of some of the notification types you can elect to receive:

CHATS

  • Mentions of you
  • Missed calls
  • Upcoming conference video calls

CHANNELS

  • New topic in a channel you subscribed on
  • Invite to a channel
  • New comment in a topic you subscribed on
  • Replyes to your comments

MENTIONS

  • Enable notifications
  • Show badge

BROADCATS

  • Enable notifications
  • Show badge

To enable chats, channels, mentions, and broadcasts notifications:

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Navigate to General settings > Notifications & Sound.
  3. Tap at the top right.
  4. Select which types of notifications you would like to receive.
  5. Tap the checkmark at the top right.

Customize notification badge color

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Navigate to General settings > Notifications & Sound.
  3. Select a required color from the Badge color drop-down menu.
  4. Tap the checkmark at the top right.

Customize sticky notifications

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Navigate to General settings > Notifications & Sound.
  3. Select a required option from Notifications drop-down menu:

    • No notifications - if you do not want to receive any chat notifications;
    • Without chat text - if you want to receive chat notifications but without a chat text;
    • With chat text - if you want to receive chat notifications with a chat text.
  4. Tap the checkmark at the top right.

Customize the email notifications

You can receive email notifications to alert you about new message(s). The email notifications suggest 2 setting variants:

  • Email Notification period - allows to select the time period for the notifications;
  • Email Notifications repeats - allows to select the notifications repeats.

To customize email notifications:

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Navigate to General settings > Notifications & Sound.
  3. Select a required option from the Email Notification Period and Email Notifications repeats drop-down menus.
  4. Tap the checkmark at the top right.

Customize the incoming call ringtone

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Navigate to General settings > Notifications & Sound.
  3. Select a required ringtone from the Select a ringtone drop-down menu.
  4. Tap the checkmark at the top right.

Enable/disable the global mute

If you enable the global mute, you will mute all notifications within the application. There are 2 ways to enable/disable the global mute:

  • using General settings > Notifications & Sound option;
  • using the microphone icon.

Way 1 - using "General settings > Notifications & Sound" option:

  1. On the Notification & Sound page tap .
  2. Switch all toggles off to stop notifications from receiving.
  3. Tap the checkmark at the top right.

Way 2 - using the microphone icon:

  1. Open VNCtalk.
  2. In the top menu, tap the microphone icon and it will turn red, confirming that you mute all notifications.
  3. To disable the global mute: Tap the microphone icon again.

Security and privacy settings

Enable/disable 2 Factor Authentication

Two-factor authentication (2FA) allows you to add an extra level of security to your account. Besides using your login and password, enabling 2FA requires you to enter a one-time password code every time you log into your account. The code is automatically generated by an application on your phone.

  1. Download an authenticator application on your phone. We recommend Google Authenticator for Android and iOS users.
  2. Go to VNCcontact+.
  3. Tap the cogweel icon at the top right.
  4. Tap General Settings.
  5. In the pop-up box that appers, tick the Enable 2 factor Authentication checkbox.
  6. Scan the QR code with your authenticator application on your phone.
  7. Enter the six-digit code from the application and tap Save.

Enable/disable OMEMO Encryption

OMEMO encryption means that only the sender and the recipient have access to the contents of a message. Neither VNCtalk nor anyone or anything else can read encrypted messages.

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Navigate to General settings > Security & Privacy.
  3. Switch on "Enable OMEMO Encryption" toggle.

  4. Tap the checkmark at the top right.

You can have up to 5 OMEMO encrypted devices.

When you hit the maximum number of OMEMO encrypted devices, you can't log in to VNCtalk with a new device. In that case, you'll get the notification stating "Exceeded OMEMO limit. Please deselect one of the devices first to enable encryption from the current device":

When you close a pop-up, you'll see a red notification stating "You can have max 5 OMEMO devices at once. To enable a new device you should disable one of the previous devices":

To disable one of the previous devices, simply remove the tick next to a corresponding device. Confirm that you want to delete OMEMO devise and tap the Remove button. Then restart the app so the current device will be added automatically.

Once done, you can see only new messages. Click Transfer all or Transfer selected chat to see older encrypted messages:

Delete an OMEMO device

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Navigate to General settings > Security & Privacy.
  3. In the OMEMO DEVICE section, tick a required checkbox next to the device you want to remove.
  4. Tap the checkmark at the top right.

Enable/disable the "Read receipts" option

Check marks will appear next to each message you send. Here's what each one indicates:

The message was successfully sent.
The recipient has read your message.

The "Read Receipts" option allows you to see whether the recipient has read your message or seen your image/video or not. To enable the "Read receipts" option:

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Navigate to General settings > Security & Privacy.
  3. In the PRIVACY section, switch on Enable receipts toggle.

Enable/disable "Inform about typing" option

If you enable "Inform about typing" option, other users will be able to see if you are typing a message at the moment.

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Navigate to General settings > Security & Privacy.
  3. Switch on or off Inform about typing toggle.

  4. Tap the checkmark at the top right.

Enable/disable "Publish profile user data" option

If you enable the "Publish profile user data” option, everyone within VNCtalk can find you and see your VNCtalk profile.

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Navigate to General settings > Security & Privacy.
  3. Switch on or off Publish profile user data toggle.

  4. Tap the checkmark at the top right.

Enable/disable "Publish last activity" option

If you enable "Publish last activity" option, other users will be able to see when you were online last time.

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Navigate to General settings > Security & Privacy.
  3. Switch on or off Publish last activity toggle.

  4. Tap the checkmark at the top right.

Features settings

Enable/disable Rich Text Format

If you enable Rich Text Format, you will have the toolbar with icons for editing and formatting a text. With Rich Text Format , you can include images, links, audio and video as well as text.

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Navigate to General settings > Features.
  3. Switch on or off Enable RTF editor toggle.

  4. Tap the checkmark at the top right.

Enable/disable the keyboard

You can enable the keyboard, so when you want to type a message, the keyboard appears immediately. It means that you do not need to tap the message field firstly for the keyboard to appear.

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Navigate to General settings > Features.
  3. Switch on or off Enable keyboard on mobile toggle.

  4. Tap the checkmark at the top right.

Enable/disable Channels, Broadcasts, Whiteboard, Multi Conference Board features

You can enable or disable such VNCtalk features as:

  • Channels
  • Broadcasts
  • Whiteboard
  • Multi conference board

Once you've disabled Channels and Broadcasts features, they are disappeared from the features menu:

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Navigate to General settings > Features.
  3. Under the SELECT FEATURES section, switch on or off the toggle next to the features you want to enable or disable.

  4. Tap the checkmark at the top right.

Enable/disable a pad feature

You can also enable or disable a pad feature. Once you've disabled the Pad feature, it disappeared from the header menu of the chat/group chat:

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Navigate to General settings > Features.
  3. Under the SELECT FEATURES section, switch on or off the toggle next to the pad feature.

  4. Tap the checkmark at the top right.

Appearance settings

Customize the theme

There are 3 themes in the application: "VNCtalk", "Purple", "Orange".

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Navigate to General settings > Appearance.
  3. Select a theme from the drop-down menu and tap the checkmark at the top right.

Customize the font size

To change the font size in a VNCtalk chat, follow these steps:

  1. Click the profile icon at the top right corner.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Appearance.
  3. Drag the slider left and right to choose one of the font size options.

Chats/group chats

All operations, described in this section, are available if "Talk" tab is selected:

With the chat feature in VNCtalk, you can hold instant messaging conversations with people or groups, share content and emojis, mention people or groups, and send documents, images, or other content.

You can also hop into a call or meeting with a person right from your chat screen by tapping the phone or camera icons.

Start a chat

There are 2 ways to start a chat:

  • using the plus icon;
  • using Chat button next to required user.

Way 1 - using the plus icon:

  1. Tap the plus icon at the bottom and tap Start Chat:

  2. Search for a required user and tap their.

Way 2 - using "Chat" button next to required user:

  1. Tap the hamburger menu
  2. Tap Users > ALL
  3. Search for a required user. Tap and hold on the user, then tap Chat.

Check a user's profile information

Every user in VNCtalk has a profile where you can view all available data about that person. You can also connect with a user through video/audio calls, send a message, open a form to compose an email or create a task for them.

A user's profile displays general information about your contact:

  • User profile picture.
  • Buttons that launch some actions in a corresponding VNC product:

    Button Action
    Chat Redirects to VNCtalk and starts a chat with a user.
    Audio call Redirects to VNCtalk and starts an audio call with a user.
    Video call Redirects to VNCtalk and starts a video call with a user.
    Email Redirects to VNCmail and opens a form to compose an email.
    New task Redirects to VNCtask and opens a form to create a task for a user.
    New ticket Redirects to VNCproject and opens a form to create a ticket.
  • Tabs with a contact information. The data accessible via these tabs depends on your role within your organization:

    Tab Information
    Profile Displays basic information with full name, birthdate, role of a team member, company, email, timezone, country, and language.
    HR Data Displays different HR data, such as weekly working hours, gender, marital state and date of birth, payment mode, per week availability, hourly rate, and further information. The data displayed under HR Data is imported from VNCdirectory.
    Account Displays identity management and access/permission management data, such as username, the role of a team member, account settings, assigned projects, and further information. The information is managed in VNCdirectory.

View a User's profile

There are 2 ways to check a user's profile information:

  • using the profile avatar icon in a chat;
  • using User's profile button.

Way 1. Using the profile avatar icon in the chat

  1. Tap a required chat.
  2. Tap the kebab menu .
  3. Tap Profile.

Way 2. Using "User's profile" button

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Tap Users and then tap All.
  3. Search for a required user. Tap and hold on the user.
  4. Tap User's profile.

Start a group chat

  1. Tap the plus icon at the bottom and tap Start Chat:

  2. If you want to add an internal user (member of your organization), use the search field to search for a required user. Then tap them and you should see the following:

    If you want to add an external user (member of another organization) - enter his/her email address to the field and tap Return.

  3. Tap the arrow icon at the bottom.

  4. Enter the name to the Group chat name field.
  5. Add a group chat image by tapping the Avatar icon next to the Group chat name field. Then tap Select an Image > Use.
  6. To protect your communication - enable E2E Encryption. It means that E2E Encryption ensures only you and a person, you're communicating with, can read or listen to what is sent, and nobody in between.
  7. To make a group chat internal (it will be only for internal users) enable Internal in Privacy section.
  8. Tap the checkmark at the bottom. You should see the created group chat in chats list.

    Also all the users of the group chat should see it in chats list too.

Change a group chat avatar

  1. In a group chat, tap the kebab menu .
  2. From the drop-down menu that appears, select Chat info.
  3. Tap the pencil icon at the top right.
  4. Add a group chat image by tapping the Avatar icon next to the Group chat name field. Then tap Select an Image > Use.
  5. Tap the checkmark at the top right. After you change the avatar, you should see the notification stating that * Mia Chesterfield has updated the group photo*.

Leave a group chat

In a group chat, tap the kebab menu icon and tap Leave conversation

  • If you are the group chat owner, you should select a new owner.
  • If you are a participant - just confirm that you want to leave the conversation.

Rename a group chat

  1. In a group chat, tap the kebab menu icon
  2. From the drop-down menu that appears, tap Chat info.
  3. Tap the pencil icon at the top right.
  4. Edit Group chat name field and tap the checkmark at the top right.

Search in a chat/group chat

There are 2 ways to search in a chat/group chat:

  • using the search field;
  • using the magnifier icon.

Way 1 - using the search field:

  1. Open VNCtalk.
  2. Enter a required request in the search field:

    • The found results are highlighted in blue.

Way 2 - using the magnifier icon:

  1. In a group chat, tap the magnifier icon.
  2. Enter a required request to the field tap Return on the keyboard.

To search for a specific word across starred messages, open the chat, and choose an option:

  1. Tap the magnifier icon at the bottom.
  2. Enter a search term in to the field.
  3. Tap the star icon and it will turn yellow.
  4. Tap Return on the keyboard. The found results will be highlighted in orange:

Access images/documents/voice messages/videos/meetings in a chat/group chat

All sent images/documents/voice messages/videos/meetings are stored in "Media" folder.

  1. In a chat/group chat, tap the kebab menu .

  2. From the drop-down menu that appears, select Media.

    Here you can find all sent image(s)/document(s)/audio(s)/video(s) - just select required tab: All, Images, Voice Messages, Videos, Docs, and Meetings.

    When you search, you have these options:

  3. Start a new search: Tap in the serch field.

  4. Open a result: Tap and select Open from the dropdown.
  5. Download a result: Tap and select Download from the dropdown.
  6. Send it to a chat/group chat: Tap and select Send to from the dropdown. On the Send to page select or search for a chat/group chat you want to send the file and tap it.
  7. Email to a friend: Tap and select Email to Friend from the dropdown. In the Email to friend box that opens, fill in the fields and then tap Send.
  8. Delete a result: Tap and select Delete from the dropdown. Confirm that you want to delete a file, tap Delete in the modal window.

Disable/enable the message notification in a chat/group chat

If you do not want to receive a notification when somebody sends you a message in a particular chat/group chat, you can disable the message notification for this chat/group chat. You can enable the message notification any time you want.

You can mute:

  • message notifications: you'll still receive messages sent to the individual or group chat but a pop-up message won't be shown.
  • sound notifications: you'll still receive messages sent to the individual or group chat but a sound notification will be turned off.
  • incoming calls: you'll still receive a call but a ringing sound and pop-up message will be turned off.
  • everything: message notification, sound notification, incoming calls will be turned off.

Disable notifications in a chat/group chat

  1. Open a required chat.
  2. Tap the bell icon .
  3. From the drop-down menu that appears, select which type of notifications you wouldn't like to receive:
    • Stop a pop-up message notification: Click Mute Notifications.
    • Stop a sound notification: Click Mute Sound.
    • Stop a ringing sound and pop-up message when you'll receive a call: Click Mute Incoming Calls.
    • Stop all notifications: Click Mute Everything.

Enable notifications in a chat/group chat

  1. Open a required chat.
  2. Tap the icon related to the type of disabled notifications.
  3. From the drop-down menu that appears, select which type of notification you'd like to receive.

Enable E2E encryption in a chat/group chat

Only the Moderator can enable E2E encryption in a chat/group chat.

There are 2 ways to enable E2E encryption in a chat/group chat:

  • using Enable E2E Encryption option;
  • using the lock icon in a chat/group chat.

Way 1 - using "Enable E2E Encryption" option:

  1. Tap and hold on a required chat/group chat.
  2. Tap Enable E2E Encryption:

    • If you open this chat/group chat, you should see that there is a corresponding message, for example:

    • And there is the icon of a red lock icon .

    • Also you should see the lock icon on the chat/group chat avatar icon:

Way 2 - using the lock icon in a chat/group chat:

Open required chat/group chat and click the lock icon at the bottom and it will turn red, confirming that you've enabled E2E encryption.

Disable E2E encryption in a chat/group chat

Only the Moderator can disable E2E encryption in a chat/group chat.

There are 2 ways to disable E2E encryption in a chat/group chat:

  • using the kebab menu next to a chat/group chat;
  • using the lock icon in a chat/group chat.

Way 1 - using the kebab menu next to a chat/group chat:

  1. Tap and hold on a required chat/group chat.
  2. From the drop-down menu that apperas, select Disable E2E encryption.

    You should see a corresponding message in a chat/group chat, for example:

Way 2 - using the lock icon in a chat/group chat:

Open required chat/group chat and click the lock icon at the bottom. You should see a corresponding message in a chat/group chat, for example:

Transfer secure chats

After you login to VNCtalk, your device is registered in the system and assigned an ID. The ID looks as follows, for example: 10161 Mobile Android 2021-02-24. Where:

  • 10161 - is a device ID;
  • Mobile - is a hardware type;
  • Android - is an operating system of a hardware type;
  • 2021-02-24 - is a login date from a device.

You can check the devices ID in your VNCtalk account. For this tap the hamburger menu icon at the top left and navigate to General settings > Security & Privacy:

Imagine that you enable E2E encryption for a group chat in VNCtalk App. Let's call the group chat "Testing" in this imaginary situation. Then you login to VNCtalk Web Client for the first time. When you open "Testing" group chat, you should see that you cannot read the previous messages because they are encrypted:

Can't decrypt the message - not intended for current device

To read the previous messages, you should transfer them from VNCtalk App into VNCtalk Web Client. For this follow the steps below:

  1. Login to VNCtalk on both devices: a device, from which you want to transfer encrypted messages, and a device, to which you want to transfer them.
  2. In VNCtalk on a device, from which you want to transfer messages, tap the hamburger menu .
  3. Navigate to General settings > Security & Privacy.
  4. In the OMEMO devices section, tap SELECT CHATS.

  5. Tap a chat, from which you want to transfer encrypted messages, and then Start at the bottom. You should see the following notification:

    Started discovering nearby devices

  6. Get back to VNCtalk on a device, to which you want to transfer encrypted messages. You should see the following window there:

    Click Accept. You should see the following notification:

    The chats are transferred successfully

    After the transfer is over, you will be able to read the messages, which were encrypted.

Record a voice message in a chat/group chat

  1. In a chat/group chat, tap the microphone icon .

    • You should see that the recording has started.
  2. To send the voice message, tap the checkmark button . To stop recording the voice message, tap the cross button .

Send a file/picture/photo to a chat/group chat

If you need to send a file/picture/photo:

  1. In a chat/group chat, tap the clip icon .

  2. Select a required file/picture/photo.

If you need to take a photo and then send it:

  1. Tap the camera icon.
  2. Take a photo with your camera and tap Use Photo.

Block a user in a chat

You can stop receiving messages and calls from certain users by blocking them.

After you block a user, you should see the following on the blocked user's avatar and notification stating The user is blocked.

  1. Open a required chat and tap the kebab menu at the top right.

  2. Tap Block user.

Other way is to tap and hold on a chat with a user you want to block and then tap Block user.

All blocked users are added to "Blocked" list. To access the list:

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Then tap Users, scroll the tabs left, and tap BLOCKED tab.

Unblock a user in a chat

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Tap Users, scroll the tabs left, and tap BLOCKED tab.
  3. Tap the lock icon next to a required user.

    • Other way is to open a chat with a blocked user and tap the lock button at the bottom.
    • You can also tap and hold on a chat with a user you want to block and then tap Unblock user.

Archive a chat/group chat

The archive chat feature allows you to hide a chat/group chat from your chats list to better organize your conversations.

  1. Tap and hold on a chat/group chat, which you want to archive.
  2. Tap Archive.

All archived chats/group chats are stored in "Archive" list. To access the list:

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Select Archive.

You can unzip or delete archived chats/group chats from "Archive" list at any time.

Unzip an archived chat/group chat

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Tap Archive.
  3. Then tap next to the chat/group chat you want to unzip.

Delete an archived chat/group chat

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Tap Archive.
  3. Then tap the trash icon next to the chat/group chat you want to unzip.
  4. Confirm that you want to delete the archived chat/group chat - tap Delete in the modal window.

Add a user to "Favorite" list

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Tap Users > ALL tab.
  3. Find a required user, then tap and hold them.
  4. Tap Add to Favorites.

Other way is to tap and hold on a chat with a user you want to add to "Favorite" list, then tap Add To Favorites.

Users, marked as "favorite", are added to a "Favorite" list. To access the list:

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Tap Users > FAVORITES tab.

Remove a user from "Favorite" list

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Tap Users > FAVORITE tab.
  3. Tap the star button next to the required user.

Other way is to tap and hold on a chat with a user you want to remove from "Favorite" list, then tap Remove From Favorites.

Pin/Unpin a chat

Some chats deserve to be prioritized and viewed at a glance.

The pin chat feature allows you to pin specific chats to the top of your chats list so you can quickly find them. You can select up to 5 chats to pin at once.

  1. Tap and hold the chat you want to pin, then tap Pin chat.
  2. To unpin a chat, tap and hold a required chat, then tap Unpin chat.

Delete a chat/group chat

  1. Tap and hold on a chat/group chat you want to delete.
  2. Tap Remove From Recent.
  3. Confirm that you want to delete the chat - tap Delete in the modal window.

Access the list of all the messages where you are mentioned

You can check all the messages, where you are mentioned, in "Mention list". Tap Mentions:

The last message, in which you are mentioned, is in the 1st place in the list.

The unread flag helps identify new messages where you are mentioned. When a new message comes in, it will have a small unread message bubble with a number next to it, indicating how many messages from that user are unread:

Access a chat/group chat information

If you're a chat group admin, the Chat info page allows you to edit the group chat name, description, image, and member list of a group. You can also add tags and enable/disable E2E encryption.

  1. In a chat/group chat, tap the kebab menu .
  2. Tap Chat Info.

Add a user to a chat

  1. Open a required chat.
  2. Tap Participants:

  3. Enter a chat name to the Title Of Conversation (*) field.

  4. Enter a user's name to the Enter contact's name field and tap the user.
  5. To save the changes, tap the checkmark at the top right.

Add a user to a group chat

  1. Open a required chat.
  2. Tap the kebab menu at the top right and then Chat Info.

    • Alternatively, tap Settings.
  3. Tap the pencil icon at the top right or tap Edit at the bottom to switch to editing mode.

  4. Once done, tap Edit participants in the Participants section.
  5. In the Select Participants box, select required role for the user: Moderator, Participant,Audience.
  6. Search for or select the user you want to add to a chat and then tap Select.

    • If you want to add an external user (member of another organization, not yours) - enter their email address to the field and tap Return.
  7. Once done, tap the checkmark at the top right or the Update button at the bottom .

Alternatively, you can tap Participants in a required group chat:

Select the user you want to add to a chat and then tap the blue check mark at the bottom.

Delete a user from a group chat

Only the Moderator can delete a user from group chats.

There are 2 ways to delete a user from a group chat:

  • using Settings option;
  • using the participants icon.

Way 1 - Using "Settings" option

  1. In a group chat, tap the kebab menu .
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap the pencil icon at the top right.
  4. Tap Edit participants.
  5. Tap the cross button on a required user:

Way 2 - Using the participants icon

Send a location in a chat/group chat

  1. In a chat/group chat, tap the geolocation icon:

  2. If it is required, allow VNCtalk to access the device location.

  3. Select a location and tap the checkmark at the bottom.

Messages

Reply to a message in a chat/group chat

You can respond to a specific message in an individual or group chat.

  1. In a chat/group chat, tap and hold on the message you want to reply.
  2. Tap Reply on a toolbar at the top of the screen.
  3. Enter your response and tap Send .

After you receive a message, you should see it on the main screen of your smartphone. You can reply to the message without opening the application. For this just tap Reply:

Use emoji

To use emoji, simply tap the icon T located under your text box.

If you do not have the icon T, ensure that Rich Text Format is enabled. Refer to the "Enable RichText Format" section, for a step-by-step guide.

In the rich text box that appears, tap the icon to open the emoji selection menu. To switch back to your text box, tap the icon again.

Use Rich Text Format in a chat/group chat

  1. Ensure that Rich Text Format is enabled. Follow the steps from "Enable/disable Rich Text Format" instruction.
  2. In a chat/group chat, tap Rich Text Format icon:

    You should see the following window where you can type a message using Rich Text Format:

Extend the field for typing a message in a chat/group chat

You can extend a text field simply by tapping . To shrink a text field, tap .

Mark/unmark a message as favorite in a chat/group chat

The starred messages feature allows you to bookmark specific messages so you can quickly refer back to them later.

To mark a message as favorite:

In a chat/group chat, tap on a message and the star will turn yellow, confirming that you've marked the message as favorite.

To unmark a message as favorite, tap the star icon on a message again.

Mention all users in a group chat

To mention all users in a group chat, just enter @all to the message field and tap Go.

Copy a message in a chat/group chat

  1. In a chat/group chat, tap and hold on a message you want to copy.
  2. Tap Copy on a toolbar at the top of the page.

Forward a message in a chat/group chat

You can forward messages from an individual or group chat to another individual or group chat. Forwarded messages are indicated with a Forwarded label:

  1. In a chat/group chat, tap and hold on a message you want to forward.
  2. Tap the Forward on the toolbar at the top of your screen.
  3. Search for or select the user or group chats you want to forward the messages to.

Delete a message in a chat/group chat

When you delete messages, they are deleted for everyone. Once a message is deleted, the app displays a notification stating Message is deleted.

  1. In a chat/group chat, tap and hold the message you want to delete. This will highlight the message in blue, and show your options on a toolbar at the top of the screen.
  2. Tap the kebab menu at the top right.
  3. From the drop-down menu that opens, select Delete message.

Delete, copy, forward multiple messages

You can select more than one message to delete, copy, or forward.

  1. Tap and hold on the message you want to delete, copy, forward.
  2. This will highlight the message in blue, and show your options on a toolbar at the top of the screen.
  3. Select more messages to delete, copy, forward multiple messages at once.
  4. Tap one of the following on a toolbar at the top of the page:

Send a message by mail

  1. In a chat/group chat, tap and hold on a message you want to send by email. This will highlight the message in blue, and show your options on a toolbar at the top of the screen.
  2. Tap the kebab menu at the top right.
  3. Tap Email to a Friend.
  4. Enter an email address to the field and tap Send at the bottom.

VNCpad

The VNCpad allows you to add one or more pads to write on, for example for notes during an online meeting, and has a text editor with basic text formatting options like bold, italic, underlined and strikethrough text, lists with numbers or bullet points and indent text. In addition, you can add a table for organizing information.

VNCpad also highlights every participant‘s contribution to the VNCpad in a different color and in real-time. These colors can be removed when the document is finished.

Create a VNCpad in a chat/group chat

  1. In a chat/group chat, tap the VNCpad icon:

  2. Tap Create new pad or the plus icon at the top right .

  3. Enter the document name and tap CREATE.

    After you create a VNCpad, the following icon will appear in a chat/group chat, so all participants will be aware of a VNCpad creation:

Rename a VNCpad in a chat/group chat

  1. In a chat/group chat, tap the VNCpad icon:

  2. Tap the kebab menu on a required VNCpad and then tap Rename pad:

  3. Enter a required name and tap UPDATE.

Delete a VNCpad in a chat/group chat

  1. In a chat/group chat, tap the VNCpad icon:

Audio/video calls

Start an audio/ video call

There are 5 ways to start an audio or video call with a user:

Way 1. Using the handset in a chat.

  1. Open the chat with the user you want to call.
  2. If you want to start an audio call, tap Voice Call .
  3. If you want to start a video call, tap the kebab menu icon and then select Video Call.

Way 2. Using the handset in a group chat.

  1. Open the group chat you want to call.
  2. If you want to start an audio call, tap Voice Call .
  3. If you want to start a video call, tap the kebab menu icon and then select Video Call.
  4. Select whether you want to start a call with all users of the group chat or a particular user.

    • If you want to start a call with a particular user, tap the Selected only tab and then select or search for a required participant(s). Once done, tap the checkmark at the top right.
  5. Tap the checkmark at the top right.

Way 3. Using "Voice call"/ "Video call" option for a chat.

  1. Tap and hold a required chat.
  2. Tap Voice call or Video Call.

Way 4. Using "Voice call"/ "Video call" option for a group chat.

  1. Tap and hold a required chat.
  2. Tap Voice call or Video Call.
  3. Select whether you want to start a call with all users of the group chat or a particular user.

    • If you want to start a call with a particular user, tap the Selected only tab and then select or search for a required participant(s). Once done, tap the checkmark at the top right.
  4. Tap the checkmark at the top right.

Way 5. Using "ALL" tab.

  1. Tap the hamburger menu
  2. Tap Users.
  3. Select the ALL tab. Search for the user you want to call.
  4. Tap and hold on the user, then select Voice call or Video call.
  5. Alternatively, you can tap the user's avatar and then tap the handset/ camera icon:

Answer an audio/ video call

If you receive an incoming call, do one of the following:

  • Accept an incoming call/ accept a video call as an audio call: Click .
  • Accept a video call with the enabled camera: Click .
  • Decline a call: Click .

If you miss an audio call, you should see the following notification in a chat/group chat:

Rejoin an active audio/video call

If you was removed from the meeting, you can join an active video meeting simply by clicking the Join button.

Switch to floating video view

If you want to text a message during an audio/ video call, you can switch to a floating video view.

  1. In a call, tap the down arrow in the upper left corner.
  2. When you do that, your video appears as a floating window.
  3. Tap the floating video window to return to the full window.

Expand to full screen during an audio/ video call

You can set someone to be visible on your phone’s entire screen. To see someone on full screen, tap on the user's avatar icon.

When you do that, the selected person’s video feed will occupy the entire screen with your video appearing as an avatar icon at the top-right corner.

Switch from front to back camera during a video call

VNCtalk will select the facing default camera to display videos when video calling. To switch from front to back camera and vice versa:

  1. At the top right, tap the camera icon to switch to the back camera.
  2. Tap it again to switch back to the front camera.

Send messages while on an audio/ video call

You can send messages, pictures, and files while on any call.

  1. Tap the down in the upper left corner to minimize the call. Now you can write messages or send pictures while remaining on the call.
  2. Tap a floating video window to switch back to the call.

Toggle the video during an audio/ video call

On the remote control, select to switch off the video while on a call. To switch the video back on, tap the camera icon again.

Mute the microphone during an audio/ video call

On the remote control, tap the mute icon to mute your microphone.

Activate the loudspeaker on a mobile device

On the remote control, tap the speaker icon to put the call on loudspeaker.

ownCloud

You can search, view, download, and share your ownCloud files right from VNCtalk. You can also create multiple public links per file or folder and adjust permissions so the right team members have the right access.

Share a file

The ownCloud files and folders sharing functionality supports:

  • Sharing files and folders with users or groups
  • Creating public link shares with hyperlinks

Share with users and groups

You can share the files and folders that you store in your ownCloud with anyone in VNCtalk.

  1. In the chat/group chat tap the kebab menu icon at the top right.

  2. Select Media.

  3. Tap the ownCloud icon at the top right:

  4. Tap the kebab icon next to the file or folder you want to share with.

  5. From the pop-up menu, select Shared With Users And Groups.
  6. In the Enter user's, group's or remote group's name field, enter a name of the user or a group you want to share with.
  7. Once done, tap the checkmark icon at the top right.

The recipient will need to enter the password to access the shared resource.

You can create multiple public links per file or folder. This offers a lot of flexibility for creating different kinds of share links for a single file or folder, such as different passwords, expiry dates, and permissions.

  1. In the chat/group chat tap the kebab icon at the top right.

  2. Select Media.

  3. Tap the ownCloud icon at the top right:

  4. Tap the kebab icon next to the file or folder you want to share with.

  5. From the pop-up menu, select Share A Public Link.
  6. On the Public link page that opens, provide the name in the "Link Name" field, and fill out the options that suit what you want the link to support. You can find details of what each option does below.

  7. Once done, tap the checkmark icon at the top right.

  8. Now that the share is created and copied in the clip board, you can manually paste the link to send it.
Settings Description
Download / View Allows recipients to view or download the public link’s contents.
Download / View / Edit Allows recipients to view, download, edit, and delete the public link’s contents.
Download / View / Upload Allows recipients to view, download and upload the public link’s contents.
Upload only Allows users to create a drop folder, which can receive files from multiple recipients without revealing the contents of the folder.
Password Sets a password for protecting the link.
Expiration Sets an expiry date for the link. The public link expires at the end of the specified day.

Display file detailes

This shows details about public links (if they have been created) such as its name, share permissions, and sharing status:

From here, you can also manage your public link shares:

  • Edit
  • Copy to clipboard
  • Delete

Rename an ownCloud file/folder

  1. Click Rename in the kebab menu next to the file or folder you want to rename. The file’s current name will be displayed in an editable text box.
  2. Change the name.
  3. Click a blue checkmark , and the file will be renamed.

If you don’t want to rename it, click and the file name will be left as is.

Download an ownCloud file/folder

To download an ownCloud file or folder, click Download in the kebab menu. Other way is to check the box next to a file/folder you want to upload and then click at the top right. In that way, you can download multiple files at once.

Delete an ownCloud file/folder

To delete an ownCloud file or folder, click Delete in the kebab menu. Other way is to check the box next to a file/folder you want to delete and then click at the top right. In that way, you can delete multiple files at once.

You can change any of the properties of a public link:

  1. Tap the kebab menu icon .
  2. Tap Detailes -> Edit.

From here, you can:

  • Rename a public link
  • Change a public link permissions
  • Add or remove password protection
  • Set or remove a public link’s expiration date

You can rename a public link at any time. However, when you rename a public link, it only renames your version; no other users see the new public link name.

  1. Tap the kebab menu icon .
  2. Tap Details.
  3. Tap the kebab menu icon next to the public link you want to rename.
  4. Select Edit.
  5. In a link name field, enter a new name.
  6. Once done, tap the checkmark icon at the top right.

You can change a public link permissions at any time:

  1. Tap the kebab menu icon .
  2. Tap Details.
  3. Tap the kebab menu icon next to the public link in which you want to change permissions.
  4. Select Edit.
  5. Change a public link permission options.
  6. Once done, tap the checkmark icon at the top right.

Change password protection

You can protect a public link with a password:

  1. Tap the kebab menu icon .
  2. Tap Details.
  3. Tap the kebab menu icon next to the public link in which you want to cange password.
  4. Select Edit.
  5. In the Password field, enter the password that the recipient will need to enter to access the shared resource.
  6. Once done, tap the checkmark icon at the top right.

You can set an expiration date on any of public link shares. You can also adjust or remove the expiration date.

  1. Tap the kebab menu icon .
  2. Tap Details.
  3. Tap the kebab menu icon next to the public link in which you want to change the expiration date.
  4. Select Edit.
  5. In the Expiration date field, set a new expiry date for a link.
  6. Once done, tap the checkmark icon at the top right.

After the specified expiration date is ended, users you shared with a private link will no longer be able to access it.

It's worth noting that you don’t actually delete a public link. Rather what you do is remove the access of user’s to whom it’s already been shared with.

  1. Tap the kebab menu icon .
  2. Tap Details.
  3. Tap the kebab menu icon next to the public link you want to delete.
  4. Select Delete.

To do that, the user should no longer have access to the public link you have shared with earlier.

Send files from a phone to ownCloud

You can send files from a phone to ownCloud without leaving VNCtalk.

  1. Tap the ownCloud icon located under the message field and select files you want to send.
  2. You can send files from your phone to one of the existed ownCloud folders or create a new one.

  3. Tap the checkmark at the top right.

After that, you should see the notification stating File(s) has been uploaded.

Broadcasts

VNCtalk Broadcast is a fast way to inform individual participants or defined groups and recipient lists about events of any kind. You can just write a broadcast message and everyone in the selected group will be informed immediately. If someone wants to answer to your broadcast or has a question, a 1:1 chat with the creator of the broadcast will automatically be created.

All operations, described in this section, are available if "Broadcast" tab is selected:

Create a broadcast

It is possible to create a broadcast with minimum 2 users. Also you can add a group chat participants to a broadcast.

  1. Tap the plus icon at the bottom right and select Broadcast:

  2. Enter a broadcast name to Broadcast Title field:

  3. Search for required participants using the search field or select required group chat:

  4. Once done, tap the button at the bottom right. You can check the created broadcast in the Broadcast tab.

Delete a broadcast

  1. Tap and hold on a broadcast, which you want to delete.
  2. From the drop-down menu that opens, select Delete conversation.
  3. Confirm that you want to delete the broadcast - tap Delete in the modal window.

Pin/unpin a chat in a broadcast

The instruction to pin/unpin a chat in a broadcast is the same as for a chat/group chat. So, refer to "Pin/unpin a chat" instruction, but perform the steps with required chat in a broadcast.

Disable/enable the message notification in a broadcast

The instruction to disable/enable the message notification in a broadcast is the same as for a chat/group chat. So, refer to "Disable/enable the message notification in a chat/group chat" instruction, but perform the steps with required broadcast.

Disable/enable the sound notification in a broadcast

The instruction to disable/enable the sound notification in a broadcast is the same as for a chat/group chat. So, refer to "Disable/enable the sound notification in a chat/group chat" instruction, but perform the steps with required broadcast.

Disable/enable all notifications in a broadcast

Mute/unmute incoming calls in a broadcast

Send a file/picture/photo to a broadcast

Record a voice message in a broadcast

Access images/documents/voice messages/videos/meetings in a broadcast

The instruction to access image(s)/document(s)/audio(s)/video(s) in a broadcast is the same as for a chat/group chat. So, refer to "Access images/documents/voice messages/videos/meetings in a chat/group chat" instruction, but perform the steps with required broadcast.

Send a broadcast news by email

The instruction to send a broadcast news by email is the same as for a chat/group chat. So, refer to "Send a message by mail" instruction, but perform the steps with required broadcast.

Video meetings

There are 3 possible roles in a video meeting:

  • Moderator can: share the screen, create a whiteboard, start a broadcast, send messages to participants, change participants role, remove participants from VNCmeet, add participants with a particular role, remove participants from a group, mute/unmute participants;
  • Participant can: raise a hand, add participants without a role, send a message to participants, mute/unmute participants for himself/herself, share the screen;
  • Audience can: send a message to participants, mute/unmute participants for himself/herself, and add participants without a role.

All operations, described in this section, are available during a video meeting.

Start a video meeting

You can start a video meeting not only with internal users, who are the members of your organization but also with external users, who do not belong to your organization.

If a user does not answer a call within 1 minute, the call will end automatically and you will receive the notification that a user does not answer. If you miss a video meeting, you should see the following notification in a chat/group chat:

  1. On the bottom, tap the plus icon and then Start video meeting.
  2. Add a group chat avatar by tapping a photo camera icon. Upload the picture, adjust it as needed and then tap the checkmark on the bottom.
  3. Enter a video meeting name.
  4. Tap the plus icon to add participants to your video meeting.
  5. Search for or select a user to add to the video meeting and check the box next to them.
  6. Assign a required role for a user: Admin or Participant.

    Note:

    The default settings make every user you add to a meeting a Participant.

  7. At the top right, tap the checkmark . You should see the added user in the list.

    • To start the video meeting with an external user, enter the user's email address in the Search field and tap the arrow next to the email address.
  8. Tap Settings to enable or disable End-to-End encryption, add tags or set a password.

    • Make this group chat private - you can mark a group chat as private.
    • Make room persistent - you can create a permanent meeting space.
    • Make room publicly searchable - as you and your team work together, you can make a meeting space searchable.
    • E2E encryption - this option is available for both 1:1 and group video meetings and provides additional protection when needed.
    • Tags - if you want that you and other users to quickly find your meeting, you can add hashtags.
    • Password - if you want to protect a video meeting, you can add a password.
    • To save all of the changes, tap the checkmark at the top right.
  9. To schedule the video meeting tap Schedule, check the box next to Schedule, and set a date and time manually in the Start date and End date fields or tap the calendar icon to select the date. The scheduled video meeting should be visible in the chat list.

    • The external user should receive the invite email. After they tap the Join the Meeting button in the email, they can join the video meeting.
  10. Enter the Video meeting description as needed.

  11. Tap the checkmark at the top right.

Edit a video meeting

Only organizers can modify meetings.

You can make changes to meetings that you have already scheduled from the chat list or video meeting chat.

If adding additional participants to the meeting, append new participants to the existing list; removing the original participants from the list will cause them to receive meeting canceled emails.

Way 1. From the chat list.

  1. Tap and hold a video meeting you want to edit.
  2. Select Modify scheduled meeting.
  3. Make the desired changes to the meeting.
  4. Tap the checkmark at the top right.

Way 2. From the video meeting chat.

  1. Open the video meeting you want to edit.
  2. Tap the kebab menu icon and then Modify scheduled meeting.
  3. Make the desired changes to the meeting.
  4. Tap the checkmark at the top right.

When you're finished, all the meeting participants will see the notification stating Mia Chesterfield has updated the group photo. An updated meeting invitation is sent out to all the invitees after the changes are saved.

Cancel a scheduled video meeting

Only organizers can cancel meetings.

You can cancel scheduled upcoming video meetings if the meeting isn’t necessary and you want to let the meeting participants know the meeting is canceled. You can do that from the chat list or the video meeting chat.

Way 1. From the chat list.

  1. Tap and hold a video meeting you want to cancel.
  2. Select Cancel scheduled meeting.
  3. Confirm that you want to cancel the video meeting - tap Yes in the modal window.
  4. Type a message to let the participants know the meeting is canceled. It’s not necessary, but it helps to avoid confusion.
  5. Tap Send.

Way 2. From the video meeting chat.

  1. Open the video meeting you want to cancel.
  2. Tap the kebab menu icon and then Cancel scheduled meeting.
  3. Confirm that you want to cancel the video meeting - tap Yes in the modal window.
  4. Type a message to let the participants know the meeting is canceled. It’s not necessary, but it helps to avoid confusion.
  5. Tap Send.

When you're finished, you should see the notification stating Meeting canceled and the meeting participants receive an email containing that the video meeting has been canceled by the organizer.

Join a video meeting

Both internal (users, who belong to your organization) and external users (users, who do not belong to your organization) can join a video meeting in VNCtalk.

Internal users can join a video meeting by clicking any of these buttons or .

  • If you click the button with the camera icon, you will join the video meeting with the enabled camera.
  • If you click the button with the handset icon, you will join the video meeting with the disabled camera.

External users can join a video meeting by clicking Join the Meeting button, which he/she can find in the invitation email.

If you was removed from the meeting, you can join an active video meeting simply by clicking the Join button.

Record a video meeting

Only the Moderator can record a video meeting.

You can record video meetings for people to watch later.

  1. Tap REC . You should see that the recording is in progress:

    • Other participants are notified when the recording starts or stops.
  2. To stop recording, tap the stop button .

  3. You should see the notification stating "The recording is completed". Select an option:

    • Close the notifiation.
    • Open in files.
    • Download on your computer.

A recorded video meeting is saved in Meetings folder. To access the folder, as follows:

  1. Open a required chat/group chat.
  2. Tap the kebab menu and then Media.
  3. Swipe left and tap Meetings tab.

Switch to floating video view

If you want to text a message during a meeting, you can switch to a floating video view. To do that, follow the instructions from "Switch to floating video view" subsection.

Expand to full screen during a meeting

To set someone to be visible on your phone’s entire screen, follow the instructions from "Expand to full screen during an audio/ video call" subsection.

Switch from front to back camera during a meeting

VNCtalk will select the facing default camera to display videos when video calling. To switch from front to back camera and vice versa, follow the instructions from "Switch from front to back camera during a video call" subsection.

Send messages while on a meeting

You can send messages, pictures, and files while on any call. To do that, follow the instructions from "Send messages while on an audio/ video call" subsection.

Toggle the video during a meeting

To toggle the video during a meeting, follow the instructions from "Toggle the video during an audio/ video call" subsection.

Mute the microphone during a meeting

To mute the microphone during a meeting, tap the mute icon on the remore control.

Activate the loudspeaker on a mobile device

To activate the loudspeaker on a mobile device, tap the speaker icon on the remore control.

End a video meeting

It doesn't matter who you are, moderator, particapant, or audience, leaving the meeting means that you’re ending it for everyone.

On the remote control, tap the End Call button .

Contact lists

"Contact list" is an option for each user to create lists according to individual requirements, for example for marketing purposes.

For example, you can create "Family" list and add all your family members there.

Create a contact list

  1. Tap the hamburger menu
  2. Tap Users and tap the kebab menu at the top right.
  3. Enter a list name in the field and tap the participants button at the bottom.
  4. Select required users or use the magnifier icon to find them.
  5. Tap the checkmark at the bottom.
  6. To save the changes, tap the checkmark at the bottom.

To check the created list:

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Tap Users > ALL.
  3. Scroll down and you should see the created list.

Rename a contact list

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Tap Users > ALL.
  3. Scroll down to find a required list.
  4. Tap the kebab menu and then tap Rename list:

  5. Rename the list and tap the checkmark at the bottom.

Delete a contact list

It is not possible to restore deleted lists.

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Tap Users > ALL.
  3. Scroll down to find a required list.
  4. Tap the kebab menu and then tap Delete list:

  5. Confirm that you want to delete the list - tap Delete in the modal window.

Add a user to a contact list

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Tap Users > ALL.
  3. Scroll down to find a required list.
  4. Tap the kebab menu and then tap Add user to list:

  5. Tap the pencil icon and add a required user or use the search field for searching.

  6. Tap the checkmark at the bottom.
  7. Save the list by tapping the checkmark at the bottom.

Remove a user from a contact list

  1. Tap the hamburger menu .
  2. Tap Users > ALL.
  3. Scroll down to find a required list.
  4. Tap the kebab menu and then tap Add user to list:

  5. Tap the pencil icon .

  6. Tap the cross button on a user:

  7. Tap the checkmark at the bottom.

  8. Tap the checkmark at the bottom again.

"Advanced Search" option allows to search among broadcasts, chats, contacts, channels, files, using different options and filters.

  1. To use "Advanced Search" option, type the word or phrase you’re looking for in the search field:

  2. Tap Return on the keyboard.

  3. To apply filters, tap the filter icon:

    You should see the following options:

    • Search in Apps - allows to select required application for searching;

    • Time Range - allows to set the time range for searching;

    • Select Content Type - allows to set the search for a request among all files or selected ones;

    • Users - allows to set the search for a request among all users or selected ones;

    • Tags - the option is under development;

    • Include attachments - allows to set the search through file names and content;

    • Searching through starred messages - allows to enable or disable the searching in starred messages.

    • Allow boolean operators - allows to enable or disable boolean operators, such as AND, OR, NOT.
