Getting started

Install VNCtalk App

For Android OS

Search for VNCtalk FREE VERSION: real-time communication in the Play Store and install the application.

For iOS

Search for VNCtalk FREE VERSION: real-time communication in the APP Store and install the application.

After you have installed VNCtalk - allow the application:

  • to take pictures, record video;

  • to access photos, media and files on your device;

  • to record audio.

Create an account

Before creating an account, ensure that you are using the proper URL. For this, click "Change server URL" on the login page, enter the appropriate URL, and click "Change".

  1. Tap CREATE NEW ACCOUNT:

  1. Fill in the fields. The fields with the asterisk are required. Username is generated automatically after you have entered your first and second names.
  2. Tap REGISTER. You should see:
  3. Confirm your registration. Check the email, which you have specified while registering.
  4. Activate your account - click the confirmation link.
  5. Open the application and tap Sign in. Now you can login with the credentials you have already specified while registering.

Change the profile photo

  1. Tap the hamburger menu

  2. Tap the profile avatar:

    Or you can also tap the profile icon:

  3. Tap the camera icon:

  4. Tap Select An Image and select required photo/image.

  5. Tap Use at the bottom.

Edit the profile information

  1. Tap the hamburger menu:

  2. Tap the profile avatar:

    Or you can also tap the profile icon:

  3. Tap the pencil icon at the bottom. Edit the information. First and last names are required. Save the changes by tapping the checkmark at the bottom.

Customize the screen name

Screen name is a name that is visible only in your account. All other people cannot see your screen name and can find you only by your profile name.

  1. Tap the hamburger menu:

  2. Tap your name:

  3. Enter the screen name and tap UPDATE:

Customize the language

It is possible to set 3 languages: English, German, and French.

  1. Tap the hamburger menu:

  4. Select required language from Language drop-down menu:

  5. Tap the checkmark button at the bottom.

Enable/disable Rich Text Format

Rich Text Format has the toolbar with icons for editing and formatting a text. With Rich Text Format , you can include images, links, audio and video as well as text.

  1. Tap the hamburger menu:

  2. Tap General settings:

  3. Tap Features:

  4. Tick Enable RTF editor checkbox:

  5. Tap the checkmark button at the bottom.

Enable/disable the status of delivered message(s)

You can enable receipts and see if your message has been delivered or not. Delivered messages have double checkmark:

  1. Tap the hamburger menu:

  2. Tap General settings:

  3. Tap General:

  4. Tick Enable receipts checkbox:

  5. Tap the checkmark button at the bottom.

Customize the theme

There are 3 themes in the application: "Purple Theme", "Yellow Theme", "VNCtalk".

  1. Tap the hamburger menu:

  4. Select a theme from the drop-down menu and tap the checkmark at the bottom.

Enable/disable "Inform about typing" option

"Inform about typing" option allows other users to see if you are typing.

  1. Tap the hamburger menu:

  4. Tick Inform about typing checkbox:

  5. Tap the checkmark button at the bottom.

Enable/disable "Publish last activity" option

"Last activity" option allows other users to see when you were online last time.

  4. Tick Publish last activity checkbox:

  5. Tap the checkmark button at the bottom.

Enable/disable "Add date stamp along with time stamp" option

"Add date stamp along with time stamp" option allows to add a date to time stamp on messages.

  1. Tap the hamburger menu:

  4. Tick Add date stamp along with time stamp checkbox:

  5. Tap the checkmark button at the bottom.

Customize the incoming call ringtone

  1. Tap the hamburger menu:

  2. Tap General settings:

  3. Tap Sound:

  4. Select required ringtone from Ringtone drop-down menu:

  5. Tap the checkmark at the bottom.

Enable/disable the global mute

The global mute allows to mute all notifications within the application. There are 2 ways to enable/disable the global mute:

  • using General settings -> Notifications option;
  • using the microphone icon.

Way 1 - using "General settings -> Notifications" option:

  1. Tap the hamburger menu:

  2. Tap General settings:

  3. Tap Notifications:

  4. Tick Global mute checkbox:

  5. Tap the checkmark button at the bottom.

Configure an email notification

You can configure email notifications. It means that if you receive a message in VNCtalk, the corresponding notifying email will be sent to your email address.

  1. Tap the hamburger menu:

  2. Tap General settings:

  3. Tap Notifications:

  4. Select required option from Email Notification drop-down menu and tap the checkmark button at the bottom.

Check the application version

  1. Tap the hamburger menu:

  2. Navigate to Help -> App info.

Contact VNC Service Desk

  1. Tap the hamburger menu:

  2. Navigate to Help -> VNC service desk.

  3. Tap Visit VNC service desk:

Access "Terms of use"

  1. Tap the hamburger menu:

  2. Navigate to Help -> Legal notice -> Terms of use.

Access "Data Privacy Policy"

  1. Tap the hamburger menu:

  2. Navigate to Help -> Legal notice -> Data Privacy.

Log out

  1. Tap the hamburger menu:

  2. Tap Logout:

  3. Confirm that you want to log out, tap LOG OUT in the modal window:

Configure a chat notifications

  1. Tap the hamburger menu:

  2. Tap General settings:

  3. Tap Notifications:

  4. Select required option from Notifications drop-down menu:

    • No notifications - if you do not want to receive any chat notifications;
    • Without chat text - if you want to receive chat notifications but without a chat text;
    • With chat text - if you want to receive chat notifications with a chat text.
  5. Tap the checkmark at the bottom.

Enable/disable the keyboard

You can enable the keyboard, so when you want to type a message, the keyboard appears immediately. It means that you do not need to tap the message field firstly for the keyboard to appear.

  1. Tap the hamburger menu:

  4. Tick Enable keyboard on mobile checkbox:

  5. Tap the checkmark button at the bottom.

Configure the email notification repeats

  1. Tap the hamburger menu:

  2. Tap General settings:

  3. Tap Notifications:

  4. Select required option from Email Notification repeats drop-down menu.

  5. Tap the checkmark button at the bottom.

Chats/group chats

Start a chat

There are 2 ways to start a chat:

  • using the plus icon;
  • using Chat button next to required user.

Way 1 - using the plus icon:

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Tap the plus icon at the bottom.

  3. Tap Start Chat:

  4. Enter a user's name, who you want to start the chat with, to the field. Than tap the user.

Way 2 - using "Chat" button next to required user:

  1. Tap the hamburger menu:

  2. Tap Users:

  3. Tap ALL tab:

  4. Search for required user. Tap and hold on the user, then tap Chat:

Check a user's profile information

There are 2 ways to check a user's profile information:

  • using the profile avatar icon in the chat;
  • using User's profile button.

Way 1 - using the profile avatar icon in the chat:

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Click required chat and tap the profile photo:

  3. Tap Profile:

Way 2 - using "User's profile" button:

  1. Tap the hamburger menu:

  2. Tap Users and tap ALL:

  3. Search for required user. Tap and hold on the user, then tap User's profile:

Start a group chat

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Tap the plus icon at the bottom.

  3. Tap Start group chat:

  4. If you want to add an internal user (member of your organization), you should tap him/her from the list or use the search field to find him/her. After you add the users, you should see the following:

    If you want to add an external user (member of another organization, not yours) - enter his/her email address to the field and tap Go:

  5. Tap the arrow icon at the bottom.

  6. Enter a group chat name to the filed:

  7. To upload the group chat avatar, tap the avatar icon:

  8. To protect your communication - enable E2E Encryption. It means that E2E Encryption ensures only you and a person, you're communicating with, can read or listen to what is sent, and nobody in between.

  9. To make a group chat internal (it will be only for internal users) enable Internal in Privacy section.
  10. Tap the checkmark at the bottom. You should see the created group chat in chats list, for example:

    Also all the users of the group chat should see it in chats list too.

Change a group chat avatar

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Click required group chat and tap the chat avatar icon:

  3. Tap Settings:

  4. Tap the pencil icon:

  5. Tap the group chat icon:

  6. Tap Select An Image and select required picture/photo.

  7. Tap Use:

  8. Tap the checkmark button at the top right. After you change the avatar, you should see the corresponding notification in the group chat, for example:

Leave a group chat

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Click required group chat and tap the chat avatar icon:

  3. Tap Leave conversation:

    If you are the owner of the group chat, you should select a new owner - just tap required user:

    If you are a participant - just confirm that you want to leave the conversation.

Rename a group chat

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Click required group chat and tap the group chat name:

  3. Enter required name to the field and tap CHANGE:

Search in a chat/group chat

There are 2 ways to search in a chat/group chat:

  • using Search this chat option;
  • using the magnifier icon.

Way 1 - using "Search this chat" option:

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Click required chat and tap the chat avatar icon:

  3. Tap Search this chat:

  4. Enter required request to the field and tap Go on the keyboard.

Way 2 - using the magnifier icon:

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Click required chat and tap the magnifier icon:

  3. Enter required request to the field tap Go on the keyboard.

Access image(s)/document(s)/audio(s)/video(s) in chat/group chat

All sent images/documents/audios/videos are stored in "Media" folder.

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Tap a chat/group chat avatar icon and tap Media:

    Here you can find all sent image(s)/document(s)/audio(s)/video(s) - just select required tab: Images, Audio, Video, Documents.

Disable/enable the message notification in a chat/group chat

To disable the message notification, tap the chats tab:

Then open required chat/group chat and tap the message icon:

You should see the following:

It means that if a user sends you a message, you will not receive the notification about it. To enable the message notification, tap the message icon again.

Disable/enable the sound notification in a chat/group chat

To disable the sound notification, tap the chats tab:

Then open required chat and tap the speaker icon:

You should see the following:

It means that if a user sends you a message, you will not hear the sound notification about it. To enable the sound notification, tap the speaker icon again.

Enable E2E encryption in a chat/group chat

Only the Moderator can enable E2E encryption in a chat/group chat.

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Find required chat/group chat. Tap and hold on it.

  3. Click Enable E2E encryption:

    If you open this chat/group chat, you should see that there is a corresponding message, for example:

    Mia Chesterfield enabled E2E encryption for the chat

    And there is the icon of a red lock:

    Also there is another way to enable E2E encryption in a chat/group chat - you can open required chat/group chat and tap the lock icon at the bottom:

    You should see the lock icon on the chat:

Transfer secure chats

After you login to VNCtalk, your device is registered in the system and assigned an ID. The ID looks as follows, for example: 10161 Mobile Android 2021-02-24. Where:

  • 10161 - is a device ID;
  • Mobile - is a hardware type;
  • Android - is an operating system of a hardware type;
  • 2021-02-24 - is a login date from a device.

You can check the devices ID in your VNCtalk account. For this tap the hamburger menu and navigate to General settings -> Security.

Imagine that you enable E2E encryption for a group chat in VNCtalk App. Let's call the group chat "Testing" in this imaginary situation. Then you login to VNCtalk Web Client for the first time. When you open "Testing" group chat, you should see that you cannot read the previous messages because they are encrypted:

Can't decrypt the message - not intended for current device

To read the previous messages, you should transfer them from VNCtalk App into VNCtalk Web Client. For this follow the steps below:

  1. Login to VNCtalk on both devices: a device, from which you want to transfer encrypted messages, and a device, to which you want to transfer them.
  2. In VNCtalk on a device, from which you want to transfer messages, click the hamburger menu:

  3. Navigate to General settings -> Security.

  4. Click Select chats:

  5. Click a chat, from which you want to transfer encrypted messages, and click Start at the bottom. You should see the following notification:

    Started discovering nearby devices

  6. Get back to VNCtalk on a device, to which you want to transfer encrypted messages. You should see the following window there:

    Click Accept. You should see the following notification:

    The chats are transferred successfully

    After the transfer is over, you will be able to read the messages, which were encrypted.

Disable E2E encryption in a chat/group chat

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Find required chat/group chat. Tap and hold on it.

  3. Click Disable E2E encryption:

    Also there is another way to enable E2E encryption in a chat/group chat - you can open required chat/group chat and tap the lock icon at the bottom:

Record a voice message in a chat/group chat

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Open required chat/group chat and tap the microphone icon:

    You should see that the recording has started.

  3. To send the voice message, tap the checkmark button. To stop recording the voice message, tap the cross button:

Send a file/picture/photo to a chat/group chat

If you need to send a file/picture/photo:

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Open required chat/group chat and tap the clip icon:

  3. Select required file/picture/photo.

If you need to take a photo and then send it:

  1. Tap the camera icon:

  2. Take a photo and tap OK.

Create a VNCpad in a chat/group chat

If this is the 1st VNCpad, follow the instruction below:

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Open required chat/group chat and tap the VNCpad icon:

  3. Tap VNCpad:

  4. Tap Create new pad or the plus icon at the top right:

  5. Enter the document name and tap CREATE:

  6. Delete the text in the document and start writing.

  7. To close the VNCpad, tap the cross button:

If you have already had at least 1 VNCpad and you need to create another one, follow the instructions below:

  1. Tap the VNCpad icon:

  2. Tap VNCpad:

  3. Tap the plus icon:

  4. Enter the document name and tap CREATE:

  5. Delete the text in the document and start writing.

  6. To close the VNCpad, tap the cross button:

    After you create a VNCpad, the following icon will appear in a chat, so all participants will be aware of a VNCpad creation:

Rename a VNCpad in a chat/group chat

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Open required chat/group chat, tap the VNCpad icon:

  3. Tap VNCpad:

  4. Tap required VNCpad. Then tap the kebab menu and tap Rename:

  5. Enter required name and tap UPDATE:

Delete a VNCpad in a chat/group chat

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. In a chat/group chat, tap the VNCpad icon:

  3. Tap VNCpad:

  4. Tap required VNCpad. Then tap the kebab menu and tap Delete:

Duplicate a VNCpad

This feature is under development.

Delete a message in a chat/group chat

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Open required chat/group chat, then tap and hold on a message, which you want to delete. You should see the kebab menu at the top.

  3. Tap the kebab menu and tap Delete message:

Mark/unmark a message as favorite in a chat/group chat

To mark a message as favorite:

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Open required chat/group chat and tap the star icon on a message:

    You should see the following:

To unmark a message as favorite, tap the star icon on a message again.

Block a user in a chat

There are 2 ways to block a user:

  • using Block user option in a chat;
  • using Block user option without opening a chat.

All blocked users are added to "Blocked" list. To access the list, tap the hamburger menu:

Then tap Users, scroll the tabs left, and tap BLOCKED tab:

After you block a user, you will be able to see the following icon on a blocked user:

Way 1 using "Block user" option in a chat:

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Open required chat and tap a user profile icon

  3. Tap Block user:

    You should see the following notification:

Way 2 - using "Block user" option without opening a chat:

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Tap and hold on a chat with a user, who you want to block.

  3. Tap Block user:

    You should see the following notification:

Unblock a user in a chat

There are 3 ways to unblock a user:

  • using Unblock user option without opening a chat;
  • using "Blocked" list;
  • using the lock button in a chat.

Way 1 - using "Unblock user" option without opening a chat:

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Tap and hold on a chat with a blocked user.

  3. Tap Unblock user:

    You should see the following notification:

Way 2 - using "Blocked" list:

  1. Tap the hamburger menu:

  2. Tap Users, scroll the tabs left, and tap BLOCKED tab:

  3. Tap the lock button next to required user:

Way 3 - using the lock button in a chat:

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Open a chat with a blocked user and tap the lock button at the bottom. You should see the following notification:

Archive a chat/group chat

All archived chats/group chats are added to "Archive" list. To access the list, tap the hamburger menu:

Then tap Archive.

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Tap and hold on a chat/group chat, which you want to archive.

  3. Tap Archive:

Unzip an archived chat/group chat

  1. Tap the hamburger menu:

  2. Tap Archive. Then tap the following button next to required chat/group chat archive:

Delete an archived chat/group chat

  1. Tap the hamburger menu:

  2. Tap Archive. Then tap the trash button next to required chat/group chat archive:

  3. Confirm that you want to delete the archived chat/group chat - click Delete in the modal window.

Reply to a message in a chat/group chat

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Open a chat/group chat, tap and hold on a message, which you want to reply.

  3. Tap the arrow icon:

Quick reply to a message

After you receive a message, you should see it on the main screen of your smartphone. You can reply to the message without opening the application. For this just tap Reply:

Mention all users in a group chat

To mention all users in a group chat:

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Open required group chat and just enter @all to the message field. Then tap Go.

Copy a message in a chat/group chat

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Open a chat/group chat. Then tap and hold on a message, which you want to copy.

  3. Tap the following icon:

Forward a message in a chat/group chat

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Open a chat/group chat. Then tap and hold on a message, which you want to forward.

  3. Tap the arrow icon:

  4. Select required user or use the search field for searching.

Use Rich Text Format in a chat/group chat

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Open required chat/group chat and tap Rich Text Format icon:

    You should see the following window where you can type a message using Rich Text Format:

    Also Rich Text Format supports "@mention" option:

Add a user to "Favorite" list

Users, marked as "favorite", are added to "Favorite" list. To access the list, tap the hamburger menu:

Then tap Users and tap FAVORITES tab:

There are 2 ways to add a user to "Favorite" list:

  • using Add to Favorites option;
  • using ALL tab.

Way 1 - using "Add to Favorites" option:

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Tap and hold on a chat with a user, whom you want to add to "Favorite" list.

  3. Tap Add to Favorites:

Way 2 - using "ALL" tab:

  1. Tap the hamburger menu:

  2. Tap Users and tap ALL tab:

  3. Find required user, then tap and hold on him/her.

  4. Tap Add to Favorites:

Remove a user from "Favorite" list

There are 2 ways to remove a user from "Favorite" list:

  • using Remove from Favorites option;
  • using FAVORITE tab.

Way 1 - using "Remove from Favorites" option:

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Tap and hold on a chat with a user, whom you want to remove from "Favorite" list.

  3. Tap Remove from Favorites:

Way 2 - using "FAVORITE" tab:

  1. Tap the hamburger menu:

  2. Tap Users and tap FAVORITE tab:

  3. Tap the star button next to required user:

Send a message by mail

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Open a chat/group chat, tap and hold on a message, which you want to send by email.

  3. Tap the kebab menu and tap Email to a Friend:

  4. Enter an email address to the field and tap Send button at the bottom.

Extend the field for typing a message in a chat/group chat

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Open a chat/group chat and Just tap the following icon:

Delete a chat/group chat

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Tap and hold on a chat/group chat, which you want to delete.

  3. Tap Delete conversation:

Access the list of all the messages where you are mentioned

You can check all the messages, where you are mentioned, in "Mention list". Tap @ tab:

The last message, in which you are mentioned, is in the 1st place in the list.

Access a chat/group chat information

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Open required chat/group chat and tap an avatar:

  3. Tap Settings.

Add a user to a chat

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Open required chat. Then tap a user's avatar and tap Participants:

    Alternatively, you can tap the participants icon:

  3. Enter a chat name to Title Of Conversation (*) field.

  4. Enter a user's name to Enter contact's name field and tap the user.
  5. To save the changes, tap the checkmark in the upper right corner.

Add a user to a group chat

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Open required group chat. Then tap the group chat avatar and tap Add participant(s):

    Or you can tap the participants icon:

  3. Tap the magnifier icon, enter a user's name to the field, and tap the user.

  4. To save the changes, tap the checkmark at the bottom.

Delete a user from a group chat

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Open a group chat, tap the avatar and tap Add participant(s):

    Or you can tap the participants icon:

  3. Tap the cross button on a user:

  4. To save the changes, tap the checkmark at the bottom.

Search for a group chat

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Tap the plus icon at the bottom.

  3. Enter a group name to Search for group chats field:

Send a location in a chat/group chat

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Open a chat/group chat, tap the geolocation icon:

  3. If it is required, allow VNCtalk to access the device location.

  4. Select a location and tap the checkmark at the bottom.

Audio/video calls

Start an audio call

If you miss an audio call, you should see the following notification in a chat/group chat:

There are 5 ways to start an audio call with a user:

  • using the handset icon in a chat;
  • using the handset icon in a group chat;
  • using Voice call option in a chat;
  • using Voice call option in a group chat;
  • using ALL tab.

Way 1 - using the handset icon in a chat:

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Open required chat. Then tap the handset icon and tap VNCtalk Audio call:

Way 2 - using the handset icon in a group chat:

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. open required group chat, tap the handset icon and tap VNCtalk Audio call:

  3. If you want to start an audio call with all users of a group chat, just tap the checkmark in the upper right corner:

    If you want to start an audio call with a particular user, tap Selected only tab:

    Then tap required participant(s) and tap the checkmark in the upper right corner.

Way 3 - using "Voice call" option in a chat:

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Tap and hold on required chat. Then tap Voice call:

Way 4 - using "Voice call" option in a group chat:

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Open required group chat. Then tap the handset icon and tap VNCtalk Audio call:

  3. If you want to start the audio call with all the participants, just tap the checkmark in the upper right corner:

    If you want to start the audio call with the selected participant, tap Selected only tab:

    Then tap required participant(s) and tap the checkmark in the upper right corner.

Way 5 - using "ALL" tab:

  1. Tap the hamburger menu:

  2. Tap Users. Then tap ALL:

  3. Search for required user in the list or use the search field to find the user.

  4. Tap and hold on the user, then tap Voice call:

Accept/decline an audio call

When somebody calls you, you should see the following:

To accept an audio call, click the handset in a green circle. To decline an audio call, click the handset in a red circle.

Start a video call

There are 5 ways to start a video call with a user:

  • using the handset icon in a chat;
  • using the handset icon in a group chat;
  • using Video call option in a chat;
  • using Video call option in a group chat;
  • using ALL tab.

Way 1 - using the handset icon in a chat:

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Open required chat. Then tap the handset icon and tap VNCtalk Video call:

Way 2 - using the handset icon in a group chat:

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Open required group chat. Then tap the handset icon and tap VNCtalk Video call:

  3. If you want to start the video call with all the participants, just tap the checkmark in the upper right corner:

    If you want to start the video call with the selected participant, tap Selected only tab:

    Then tap required participant(s) and tap the checkmark in the upper right corner.

Way 3 - using "Video call" option in a chat:

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Tap and hold on required chat. Then tap Video call:

Way 4 - using "Video call" option in a group chat:

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Tap and hold on a group chat. Then tap Video call:

  3. If you want to start the video call with all the participants, just tap the checkmark in the upper right corner:

    If you want to start the video call with the selected participant, tap Selected only tab:

    Then tap required participant(s) and tap the checkmark in the upper right corner.

Way 5 - using "ALL" tab:

  1. Tap the hamburger menu:

  2. Tap Users. Then tap ALL:

  3. Select required user from the list or use the search field to find the user.

When somebody calls you, you should see the following:

Create a broadcast

It is possible to create a broadcast with minimum 2 users. Also you can add a group chat participants to a broadcast.

There are 2 ways to create a broadcast:

  • using Broadcast option;
  • using the plus icon.

Way 1 - using "Broadcast" option:

  1. Tap the plus icon at the bottom and tap Broadcast:

    Alternatively, you can tap Broadcast tab:

    Then tap the plus icon at the bottom and tap Broadcast.

  2. Enter a broadcast name to Broadcast Title field. Search for required participants using the search field or select required group chat.

  3. To save the changes, tap the checkmark button at the bottom. To check the created broadcast, tap Broadcast tab:

Delete a broadcast

  1. Tap Broadcast tab:

  2. Tap and hold on a broadcast, which you want to delete.

  3. Tap Delete conversation:

Disable/enable the message notification in a broadcast

The instruction to disable/enable the message notification in a broadcast is the same as for a chat/group chat. So, refer to "Disable/enable the message notification in a chat/group chat" instruction, but ensure that you are in Broadcast tab:

Search for sent image(s)/document(s)/audio(s)/video(s) in a broadcast

Send a broadcast news by email

The instruction to send a broadcast news by email is the same as for a chat/group chat. So, refer to "Send a message by mail" instruction, but ensure that you are in Broadcast tab:

Video meetings

There are 3 possible roles in a video meeting:

  • Moderator can: share the screen, create a whiteboard, start a broadcast, send messages to participants, change participants role, remove participants from VNCmeet, add participants with a particular role, remove participants from a group, mute/unmute participants;
  • Participant can: raise a hand, add participants without a role, send a message to participants, mute/unmute participants for himself/herself, share the screen;
  • Audience can: send a message to participants, mute/unmute participants for himself/herself, and add participants without a role.

Start a video meeting

There are 2 variants to start a video meeting with a user depending on:

  • if a user is a member of your organization, it means he/she is available in the list of your contacts;
  • if a user is not a member of your organization, it means that he/she is not available in the list of your contacts.

Way 1 - if a user is a member of your organization:

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Tap the plus icon at the bottom and tap Start video meeting:

  3. Enter a video conference name instead of VNCmeet:

  4. To schedule the video meeting, set a date and time manually in Starts field or tap the calendar icon to select the date:

    Select a date and time, and tap the checkmark at the bottom. 5. Select required role for participants from the drop-down menu (Moderator or Participant):

  5. Use Search field to find users and tap them:

  6. To save the changes, tap the checkmark in the upper right corner. The scheduled video meeting should be visible in the chats list of all the participants.

Way 2 - if a user is not a member of your organization:

  1. Tap the chats tab:

  2. Tap the plus icon and tap Start video meeting:

  3. Enter a video conference name instead of VNCmeet:

  4. To schedule the video meeting, set a date and time manually in Starts field or tap the calendar icon to select the date:

    Select a date and time, and tap the checkmark at the bottom.

  5. Select required role for participants from the drop-down menu (Moderator or Participant):

  6. Enter a user email address to Search field and tap the arrow next to the email address:

  7. To save the changes, tap the checkmark in the upper right corner. The scheduled video meeting should be visible in the chats list. The external user should receive the video meeting invitation by the email address, which you have specified.

Contact lists

The contact list is a list with the individual contacts. For example, you can create "Family" list and add all your family members there.

Create a contact list

  1. Tap the hamburger menu:

  2. Tap Users and tap the meatball menu:

  3. Enter a list name to the field and tap the participants icon at the bottom.

  4. Select required users or use the magnifier icon to find them.
  5. Tap the checkmark at the bottom.
  6. To save the changes, tap the checkmark at the bottom. You can find the created list in the users list. To access the list tap the hamburger menu:

    Then tap Users and tap ALL tab:

    Scroll down. You should see the created list:

Rename a contact list

  1. Tap the hamburger menu:

  2. Tap Users and tap ALL tab:

  3. Find required list. Tap the meatball menu and tap Rename list:

  4. Rename the list and tap the checkmark at the bottom.

Delete a contact list

  1. Tap the hamburger menu:

  2. Tap Users and tap ALL tab:

  3. Find required list. Tap the meatball menu and tap Delete list:

  4. Confirm that you want to delete the list - tap Delete in the modal window.

Add a user to a contact list

  1. Tap the hamburger menu:

  2. Tap Users and tap ALL tab:

  3. Find required list. Tap the meatball menu and tap Add user to list:

  4. Tap the pencil icon and add required user or use the search field for searching.

  5. Tap the checkmark at the bottom.
  6. Save the list by tapping the checkmark at the bottom.

Remove a user from a contact list

  1. Tap the hamburger menu:

  2. Tap Users and tap ALL tab:

  3. Find required list. Tap the meatball menu and tap Add user to list:

  4. Tap the pencil icon:

  5. Tap the cross button on a user:

  6. Tap the checkmark at the bottom.

  7. Tap the checkmark at the bottom again.

"Advanced Search" option allows to search among broadcasts, chats, contacts, channels, files, using different options and filters.

  1. To use "Advanced Search" option, tap the magnifier icon:

  2. Enter a request to the field and tap Go on the keyboard.

  3. To apply filters, tap the filter icon:

    You should see the following options:

    • Search in Apps - allows to select required application for searching;

    • Time Range - allows to set the time range for searching;

    • Select Content Type - allows to set the search for a request among all files or selected ones;

    • Users - allows to set the search for a request among all users or selected ones;

    • Tags - the option is under development;

    • Include attachments - allows to set the search through file names and content;

    • Searching through starred messages - allows to enable or disable the searching in starred messages.

    • Allow boolean operators - allows to enable or disable boolean operators, such as AND, OR, NOT.
